Man of Steel, The Avengers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: April 12th Comic Reel

Various sites are pointing to this ClevverTV interview with actor Dylan Sprayberry, who plays Young Clark Kent in the film. His comments about director Zack Snyder's vision for the project may give you pause. "He was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like 'The Dark Knight' but also make it more realistic and emotional so it's not just the All-American superhero that saves everyone," he says of his early conversations with the director. "He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he's a kid." I know I for one have little interest in seeing Superman be "All-American" and saving people. That's so 20th Century.

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013

Following clues from his Tumblr, the Huffington Post suggests hip-hop artist Kid Cudi might soon love being a turtle. "He received as a gift from Andrew Form and Brad Fuller at the production company Platinum Dunes. Form and Fuller make up two-thirds of the company; the other third is owned by Michael Bay, who is producing the upcoming live-action "Ninja Turtles" film," they write. "Whether or not Cudi signed on to play a role or provide a soundtrack for the upcoming film is anybody's guess, but he certainly seems excited about the possibility." So far, producer Michael Bay has been mum on this latest development.

As we reported here at CBR, the Robert Kirkman comic has been optioned for development as an AMC television series. The story will follow "Conrad Paulson, the world's greatest thief who decides to steal only what's already been stolen in an effort to atone for all of his wrongdoings." Kirkman told The Hollywood Reporter that he hopes "Much like 'The Walking Dead' brought horror to television in a unique and groundbreaking way, I feel 'Thief of Thieves' can do the same thing for heist stories, showing the humanity of all the characters, including the criminals."

Airdate: TBA

Director Mark Webb told MTV News (via Spinoff Online) that this re-telling of Spider-Man's origins may take "several films" explaining, "I wanted to give the audience something new, so that started off with getting underneath the parents' story ... We don't totally wrap up that story in this first movie. I's sort of an ongoing mystery. That was something that was interesting to me." Considering how swiftly the origin was told last time around, unpacking it isn't the craziest idea.

Release date: May 28th, 2012

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox's intentions to shoot the "First Class" prequel may have led to director Gary Ross walking away from the "Hunger Games" franchise. "Fox's January date led the bond company on 'Catching Fire' to insist that Lionsgate commit to finish filming by Dec. 20, backing the studio into a production schedule with an August start date that Ross felt he could not accommodate. (Fox's deal with Lawrence predates her contract for Hunger Games, putting 'X-Men' in a priority position)," they report. Fox and Lionsgate are continuing to negotiate an agreement and production on the "X-Men" sequel may be delayed as late as June of next year.
