With Iron Man 3 out and already grossing more than $175 million in the North American box office, superhero fans now can look ahead to Man of Steel. Warner Bros. has released a new banner for director Zack Snyder's franchise reboot (above), but if you're searching for more hints to what secrets the film may hold, you may want to visit the children's section at the local bookstore.

ComicBookMovie found new stills in a kids' book called Man of Steel: The Early Years. Written by Frank Whitman and aimed at middle-grade readers, it features photos of Kal-El on his journey from Krypton to becoming the world's greatest superhero, including shots of his birth parents Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and Lara (Ayelet Zurer), his adoptive parents Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha (Diane Lane) Kent, young Clark (Dylan Sprayberry) and Henry Cavill as the adult Superman.

Opening June 14, Man of Steel also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Antje Traue as Faora, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy and Harry Lennix as General Swanwick.
