Brad Pitt's Plan B has optioned Stephen King's 1981 teleportation-travel short story "The Jaunt," Deadline reports. The "Mama" team of Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, with Andy positioned to direct.

First published in "The Twilight Zone Magazine," the story is set in the 24th century, where a father explains the basics of "jaunting," a form of teleportation his family will use to travel to Mars. There are complications, of course, as people must undergo general anesthesia before their journeys or else they risk instant death or insanity.The website notes "The Jaunt" should move at a fast pace, as King typically grants a 90-day option period for $1, tied to the attachment of a writer and other signs of progress that demonstrate to the author the producer is actually serious about the adaptation.
