10 Clip Show - 6.5

The brothers—Malcolm, Reese, and Dewey—take the family car for joyriding. Unfortunately, they damage the car and Hal finds out. Hal being a responsible father takes them to a therapist. It was his best decision because what follows strengthens the brother's bond.

It was found that the brothers actually care a lot about each other. There are constant flashbacks of them supporting each other. For once, the dysfunctional family turned into a caring and protective normal family. The puns are hilarious as always but the episode felt stretched at times. Idle scenes brought down its quality.

9 Clip Show#2 - 6.7

Then they both get into a fight and start exposing each other's flaws. Lois is short-tempered and manipulative while Hal is a careless parent. Clips from past episodes prove that both of them are true. Both apologies to each other later.

Somehow, the conversation gets to who would take care of their children after their death. They make a list of candidates. It was a wholesome episode not something entirely unexpected from Malcolm in the Middle.

Lavernia comes at the right moment to tell them that the blizzard is over.

6 Dewey's Dog - 8.0

Dewey realizes this is the best chance he has of getting revenge on his brothers for all the injustice they had done to him. He threatens Malcolm and Reese to do as he says or he would let his dog loose on them. The frightened brothers have no choice and follow Dewey's instructions. He makes them write an essay praising him and has them wear different outfits while reading those essays. It was the day Dewey showed his dark side.

This has to be the most popular episode of the show if not the highest rated. Hal and Lois have one day- their anniversary- in the year to themselves. They enjoy each other company and remember good times. This becomes impossible when there are 3 devils in the house. Lois finds her dress cut with scissors, burned and inside the toilet. Poor Lois! She chases the kids all around the house, making them confess their crimes.

Hal has to wait all alone at the restaurant. Lois should have worn another outfit and enjoyed the night. Instead, her nature got better of her and she wasted the whole time shouting on her children. The culprit was Hal all along, who did it by mistake.

3 Lois' Birthday - 8.4

1 Graduation - 9.1

It's a unified theory that the last episode of any show hits the hardest. Saying goodbye to the characters you watched growing up is not without tears. All beginnings have endings, the same was the case with Malcolm in the Middle.

Lois denies a highly paid job offer for Malcolm, without consulting him. On their way to the graduation ceremony, the parents tell him that they want him to become a US president. In their opinion, he can be the best president for having lived in a poor family. Malcolm gets furious at first. But in his graduation speech, he shows acceptance to his parent's wishes, willing to live up to their expectations.
