Following on the heels of the critically acclaimed new series Boardwalk Empire and a few months ahead of the premiere of A Game of Thrones, HBO has another new program in the works to add to its eclectic lineup: a CIA spy drama set during the Cold War.

Deadline reports that Boardwalk executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson are teaming up with novelist Malcolm Gladwell and film and television writer Charles Randolph for an untitled Cold War thriller that takes place in Berlin. The story centers on a missionary who becomes involved with the CIA.

Beyond those few details, little is known about the spy project, though the involvement of Gladwell (the writer of the critically acclaimed novels "The Tipping Point" and "Blink" in addition to his work as a staff writer for The New Yorker) combined with the suspenseful Cold War setting is bound to make this one of the more interesting television projects currently in development.
