WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Major X #1 by Rob Liefeld, on sale April 3.

A new chapter for the X-Men begins next week with the debut of Major X #1. Written and illustrated by Rob Liefeld, Major X plans to introduce a brand-new character into the X-Men franchise in a time-travel tale which should be full of surprises.

Liefeld is no stranger when it comes to creating iconic X-Men, having co-created Deadpool, Cable and Domino, who have gone on to become fan-favorite characters and recent stars of live-action movies, played by Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz, respectively.

The preview for Major X #1 drops the titular character in the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters in the year 1991. To give readers an idea of just how formidable he is, Shatterstar and Domino are shown to already be unconscious when we catch Major X with his boot to Cable's face. It's evident that Major X holds Cable in high regard since he takes great pride in fighting him one-on-one, even going so far as to call Cable a legend.

We'll have to wait until next week to see which X-Man Major X plans on using Cerebro to find, but seeing him go against the likes of Cable, Deadpool and Wolverine should keep fans glued to each page as more of Major X's secrets are revealed.

Major X #1 goes on sale April 3 from Marvel Comics.
