The next issue of Marvel Comics' Major X is primed to take a walk down memory lane, introducing a new take on Namor the Sub-Mariner as it does so. Namor has adopted many distinctive looks throughout his 80-year publication history, and now he can add another to the list.
A preview for Major X #4 reveals a look at an aged, bitter Namor and his children as they confront the X-Ential, M'Koy and Major X over the sorry state of the ocean in their new home, the X-Istence. While we don't get a concrete explanation about how the oceans are unlivable, the trio are nonetheless perturbed and promise action if the problem isn't fixed.
While Atlantis has played a key role in the Major X series, this is the first time its leader, Namor, has appeared on the page. Most of the Atlantean threats thus far having been issued by his fully-grown children, Nomar and Lora. Just how deeply is Namor involved in the conspiracy to defy the X-Ential? Only time, and perhaps a bit of time traveling, will tell.
