The following contains major spoilers for AXE: Death to the Mutants #2, available now from Marvel Comics.

The mother of the Mad Titan himself has officially returned in Marvel's Judgment Day event, although Sui-San isn't any better for it.

AXE: Death to the Mutants #2 by writer Kieron Gillen (Once & Future, The Wicked + The Divine) and illustrator Guiu Vilanova (Dark Shadows: Year One, Weird Detective) finds the Eternal Sersi being led deep into the Exclusion by her menacing counterpart Jack of Knives. While the two have ventured into the Eternals' extradimensional prison to free the former Avenger Eros, aka Starfox, he has other places he needs to be first. Specifically, Starfox makes a detour to visit his mother Sui-San, who is still imprisoned for the crime of ever having given birth to Thanos.

Their meeting is brief, only long enough for Sui-San to impart upon her favorite son her experience with the Progenitor, the recently resurrected Celestial who now stands in judgment of everyone on Earth. This includes Sui-San and her fellow Eternals, although in her case the Progenitor is revealed to have not made a decision quite yet, even with the weight of Thanos' crimes.

Sui-San made her introduction to the Marvel Universe in the pages of 1973's Captain Marvel #29 by writer and artist Jim Starlin. Like her fellow Eternals, Sui-San was created by the Celestials over one million years ago. In the Eternals' initial conflict between Kronos and the genocidal Uranos, Sui-San sided with the latter. In the wake of Uranos' defeat, Sui-San would eventually find her way to Titan, where she met A'Lars. Though the two were gifted with the birth of their first son Eros, the birth of their second child Thanos would be their undoing, as the Mad Titan grew up to murder both of his parents.

Following Sui-San's initial death and subsequent resurrection, it was decided by the other Eternals that she would be exiled to the Exclusion. This was done out of precaution, as well as out of the fear that she could potentially give life to an equally destructive villain at some point in the future. During Thanos' short-lived time as Prime Eternal, the Mad Titan murdered both of his parents once again, this time in multiples, by taking advantage of the resurrection granted to them by their very nature as Eternals.
