Maisie Williams Confirms ‘Game of Thrones’ Character’s Return

“Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams may have let slip the return of a long-absent character. No, it’s not the Hound (although that certainly appears to be happening, too).

Asked during an interview on BBC Radio 1 whether Rickon Stark would be season in the new season of the HBO drama, Williams replied, “Ye…es. Yes? Maybe? … Yes, we will indeed.”

Realizing she’d probably said too much, the actress added, “Oh no, I’m literally going to get off the air and someone’s going to email me.” She then joked that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss might now be motivated to kill off Arya.

Played by Art Parkinson, the youngest Stark child was last seen in the much-discussed Season 3 episode “The Rains of Castamere,” where he was being escorted by Osha to House Umber for protection. MTV notes that some fans theorize Rickon is the “gift” being presented to a grinning Ramsay Bolton in the preview for this week’s episode “Oathbreaker,” which would suggest he was betrayed (possibly by House Umber itself), or captured en route, which likely means bad news for Osha as well.

“Game of Thrones” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
