“I can’t say much about it at all, but I would absolutely love to be a part of it, [and] to be a part of the Marvel family,” Williams told Entertainment Weekly. “‘New Mutants’ looks absolutely incredible and I’ve always loved the idea of spin-offs and [director] Joshua Boone is incredibly talented. So, yeah, sign me up.”
The initial casting report said Williams had been tapped to play Wolfsbane/Rahne Sinclair, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Witch”) as Magik, and James McAvoy and Alexandra Shipp, reprising their roles from “X-Men: Apocalypse,” as Professor X and Storm, respectively. Fox has officially debunked the rumors.
While the “New Mutants” movie doesn’t have a release date, Fox’s next “X-Men” installment, “X-Men: Apocalypse,” hits theaters on May 27.
