When it comes to Omega class mutants, very few of them can hold a candle to the Master Of Magnetism, Magneto. Magneto's powers make him one of the most dangerous beings on the planet Earth. His control of magnetism means he can take apart buildings, control the blood flow of the people around him, even reverse the magnetic poles of the planet. If Magneto gets it into his head to destroy something, very few can stand in his way.

This list is going to look at how well Magneto would do against the heroes of the DC Universe. Who could he beat? Who could beat him?

10 Could Defeat Him: Dr. Fate

Doctor Fate using his powerful magical abilities

Dr. Fate is one of the most powerful sorcerers on the planet. Powered by the Lord of Order Nabu, the helmet of Fate gives its bearer tremendous magical power. Many have worn the helmet over the years, but none of them was as skilled as Kent Nelson, the first Dr. Fate. Nelson fought by the side of the JSA and today is a member of the Justice League Dark.

As powerful as Magneto is, Fate is more powerful. Beyond that, Magneto's powers are based on the physical world, while Fate's magic is all about manipulating the physical world. There's no way he couldn't nullify Magneto's magnetic control and take him out.

9 Could Defeat: Batman

Batman watching over Gotham City

The Caped Crusader is the best strategist in the DC Universe. Given enough time and information on an enemy, he can usually figure out a way to defeat them. This more than makes up for him not having any superpowers. Beyond that, his combat skills make him one of the most dangerous men in the world.

Batman couldn't do anything to Magneto. He couldn't figure out a way to beat him. Even if he brought with him weapons made of non-ferrous metals, Magneto could still erect one of his magnetic forcefields and not take any damage. Then, he could just, say, drive a girder through Batman. Or stop his heart. Or a thousand other things. It wouldn't even be a fun fight to read.

8 Could Defeat Him: Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is an unsung powerhouse. He has most of the same powers as Superman, with the added perks of telepathy, invisibility, shape shifting, and intangibility. Sure, his weakness (fire) puts him at a disadvantage, but it's not exactly common knowledge and unless someone has a flamethrower, he can still take them down.

Do Martians have iron in their blood? Even if they do, J'onn could shapeshift into something that doesn't. Magneto's helmet would block any telepathic assault, but J'onn could go intangible through any of Magneto's attacks, walk through his forcefields, and hit him with Superman level superstrength. He just has too many weapons.

7 Could Defeat: Green Lantern

Hal Jordan as Green Lantern

Green Lantern, be it Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, or Guy Gardner, is armed with one of the most powerful weapons in the universe. The Green Lantern ring, powered by the will power of the bearer, allows them to create solid light constructs, fly through space at superluminal speeds, and wield tremendous energy.

While Doctor Polaris, a man with magnetic powers, is a Green Lantern foe, Hal (or John, Kyle, or Guy) has never faced someone who uses their magnetic powers like Magneto does. Also, Magneto is just way more powerful than Doctor Polaris. While the ring's AI could probably figure out a way through his magnetic forcefields at some point, Magneto wouldn't let the fight get that far and just stop Green Lantern's heart.

6 Could Defeat Him: Shazam

When Billy Batson utters the word, "Shazam!", he's gifted with the powers of the Gods and becomes the hero called Shazam. One of the most powerful heroes on Earth, Shazam is a force to be reckoned with.

Nothing Magneto could do would hurt Shazam. His body and powers are magical in origin, meaning that Magneto's best weapon (his ability to control the iron in a person's blood) probably wouldn't work on him and even if it did, Shazam could call down the kind of lightning bolts on Magneto that could shatter his forcefields eventually.

5 Could Defeat: Cyborg

After a horrific accident, Victor Stone was bonded with a Mother Box by his father and became the superhero Cyborg. He would go on to join the Justice League, where his super strength and ability to control technology would serve him well.

RELATED: Omega: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Magneto

Cyborg is a man made of metal. It's kind of a no brainer, like when Wolverine or Colossus would attack Magneto. Magneto would just pull him apart.

4 Could Defeat Him: Wonder Woman

Diana of Themyscira is Wonder Woman, one of the greatest heroes ever known. She's super strong and fast, invulnerable, can fly, and is an expert at armed and unarmed combat. Armed with the Lasso Of Truth, Diana has felled many a foe, be they supervillain, mythological beast, alien invader, or technological terror.

While Diana does have some metal items on her, many of them were forged by the god Hephaestus, so it's doubtful Magneto's powers would work on them. While Diana probably couldn't batter down his forcefields with her brute strength, a sword forged by a god could cut through them and once Diana is inside his defenses, there's little he could do to stop her. Being a demi god, it's doubtful he could use his iron controlling powers on her blood. One punch and it's over.

3 Could Defeat: Aquaman

The King Of Atlantis, Arthur Curry can do more than just talk to fish. Armed with Poseidon's Trident, he can breathe underwater and survive at the bottom of the ocean, meaning he's vastly strong and durable. Many underestimate him and they pay for it dearly.

RELATED: X-Men: 5 Reasons Magneto Is Better As A Villain (& 5 He's Better As A Hero)

While Poseidon's Trident could probably do some damage to Magneto, Aquaman still has blood with iron in it, meaning if Magneto doesn't want the fight to go a long time, it won't.

2 Could Defeat Him: Superman

Superman is the gold standard when it comes to superheroes. He has a vast repertoire of powers, including super strength, durability, flight, heat and X-ray vision, super speed, and freeze breath. He's known all over the universe as one of the greatest heroes ever. Everyone respects him.

As an alien, there's a good chance Superman doesn't have any iron in his blood. Even if he did, Superman can move at the speed of light. Before he would fall unconscious, he could hit Magneto's force field at the speed of light, multiple times with super strength. There's no way Magneto's forcefields could stand up to that and just like with Wonder Woman, one punch is all it would take.

1 Could Defeat: The Flash

Connected to the Speed Force, the Flash is the fastest man alive. He can hit an enemy a million times in a second, run so fast he can break through to parallel dimensions, and vibrate through matter. Barry Allen is also a master of using speed tactically, making him a formidable opponent.

The Flash is faster than Superman, but he's still a human being. Magneto could freeze him in place with his magnetism. He could lift him off the ground by the metal fins on his mask and hold him in place and then just throw metal objects at him until he got too tired to keep vibrating through them. Flash wouldn't go full strength against Magneto right away and that's why Magneto would beat him.
