Wizards of the Coast has released a trailer with a heavy H.P. Lovecraft vibe for a new Magic: The Gathering set, Theros: Beyond Death.

The trailer debuted at The Game Awards 2019 n Dec. 12. At just under two minutes in length, the video depicts the effort of planeswalker Elspeth Tirel to escape from the underworld of Theros and battle the rival planeswalker Ashiok. The set will include 250 new cards with "highly anticipated characters, new and returning mechanics and gorgeous alternative versions of the set’s most exciting cards."

Updated cards will include Sol Ring, Mox Pearl, and the infamous Black Lotus, one of the most famous cards in the game for its unbalanced nature and for being so rare it recently sold for over $166,000. New cards like Elspeth, Sun’s Nemesis and Ashiok, Nightmare Muse will appear exclusively on the video game, Magic: The Gathering Arena, for a limited time. The set will also include new mechanics like escape, which allows a creature card to avoid an otherwise sure demise, and devotion, where the number of permanents of one color a player controls influences the effectiveness of certain cards.

The Theros: Beyond Death set will launch on Magic: The Gathering Arena on Jan. 16 and for tabletop pre-release starting Jan. 17.
