Magic: the Gathering is introducing three cards featuring characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic as part of a partnership with the charity Extra Life in an effort to raise money for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

The limited-edition set, referred to as Ponies: The Galloping, features three special silver-bordered cards depicting Rarity, Princess Twilight Sparkle and a double-sided card showing Princess Luna and Nightmare, respectively.

The charity Extra Life, in partnership with Wizards of the Coast, the production company behind Magic as well as Dungeons and Dragons, will have two in-house streaming events (Oct. 28-Nov. 1 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. PT and Nov. 2 from 4 p.m.-12 a.m. PT) featuring Wizards employees playing Magic: Arena, inviting players to join them in a good-spirited competition to raise awareness and funds. The goal is to raise $1 million by the end of the event, and or every set purchased, WOTC will donate $30 to the fundraiser which will go directly to benefit the Seattle Children's Hospital. Other opportunities to donate include an uncut sheet auction featuring pieces like a foil Throne of Eldraine alternate art sheet.

Magic: the Gathering is a wildly popular collectible card game with an estimated 35 million players worldwide throughout 70 countries. Each player takes on the role of a planeswalker, a dimension-hopping sorcerer with the ability to call upon powers and creatures from throughout an expansive multiverse of varying fantasy genres. Games consist of two or more participants, with each player attempting to use their powers, creatures and magical artifacts to destroy their opponents. With more than 18,000 unique cards, gameplay can be remarkably intricate, allowing a virtually infinite level of customization and available strategies for players to try.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is an animated series rebooting the original My Little Pony franchise from 1986. The series follows a group of animated magical ponies, each with their own unique character design, vividly realized personalities and magical abilities. The series is characterized by more comprehensive storytelling and a greater variety of adventures than traditionally associated with animation aimed at young girls in general and My Little Pony in particular.

The series finale of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will air on Oct. 12.
