Wizards of the Coast unveils Brilliant Restoration, the latest card coming to Magic: The Gathering as a part of the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty expansion.

CBR can provide the exclusive first look at Brilliant Restoration, a new rare Sorcery card. For a hefty mana cost, players who throw down this White card can return all artifact and enchantment cards from their graveyard to the battlefield. Given how many resources are required to use it, Brilliant Restoration is clearly designed as a late-game card that could be used to overwhelm an opponent... if players are able to survive long enough. Magic: The Gathering collectors will be able to find both a standard version of Brilliant Restoration alongside stylish full art and alternate art versions.

Brilliant Restoration Magic: The Gathering

As for flavor text, Brilliant Restoration directly references Magic: The Gathering's original Kamigawa set block. The quote, which is attributed to Michiko Konda's journal, reads, "We have done our best to deal this land together, but now I must entrust the future to my sister. She will carry our dreams onward into the sunrise."

Brilliant Restoration is just one of several new cards coming to Wizards of the Coast's hyper-popular trading card game. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty will see players return to the classic setting albeit through a slightly different lens. The upcoming expansion takes the popular plane and infuses it with a splash of cyberpunk, combining the aesthetic of feudal Japan with futurist technology. This theme is represented through the mechanics of the game, as explained by Magic: The Gathering's Dave Humphreys.

"Tradition is most represented from an enchantment side of things, and modernity is represented from an artifacts side of things," said Humphreys. "We do have traditional equipment that we still want to show up and have in this world, but there’s a spectrum that goes along with color pie — from green to white, to black, to red, to blue — from the more traditional to the more techy.” While previous expansions have largely focused on either artifacts or enchantments, Neon Dynasty will be honing in on bother, something which is clearly represented in Brilliant Restoration.

Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty will be available in Magic: The Gathering Arena on Feb. 10 while players looking for the tabletop version will need to wait until Feb. 18.
