Channing Tatum shared the first look at his toned abs from the third installment of the Magic Mike series: Magic Mike's Last Dance.
Posted to the star's Twitter, Tatum can be seen standing shirtless next to co-star Salma Hayek, who is touching his exposed stomach. The picture is captioned, "All good things begin in Miami." The third installment in the popular film franchise is set to release on Valentine’s Day weekend in 2023.
Magic Mike’s Last Dance is supposedly the final installment in the Magic Mike franchise and will see the return of Steven Soderbergh as director. Soderbergh skipped directing the second film in the franchise, Magic Mike XXL.
Magic Mike’s Last Dance is co-written by Reid Carolin and produced by Gregory Jacobs, Nick Wechsler, and Peter Kiernan. The plot of the film has remained under wraps, though Tatum described the film to be a "fish-out-of-water story where it’s a reverse-role Pretty Woman story that ends up with a lot of dancing in it."
Magic Mike Is Getting One Last Dance
Tatum first discussed the film in March last year in an interview with ET, describing it to be "wild". He said, "I mean, truly, we're not gonna leave anything on the bench. We're taking it out, we're putting it onstage, it's gonna be wild. ... I was like, 'Why are we going to make a third one if not just go really, really, really for the stars?'"
The Magic Mike films have always performed well at the box office. Magic Mike and its sequel, Magic Mike XXL, together earned $300 million at the global box office. The franchise also led to the creation of the successful Las Vegas stage show Magic Mike Live.
Tatum's latest feature film is the action-comedy The Lost City opposite Sandra Bullock. The flick also stars Daniel Radcliffe as an unhinged billionaire along with an interesting cameo by Brad Pitt. The Lost City follows a romance novelist (Bullock) who gets kidnaped and is forced to team up with Tatum’s character in a bid to escape.
The official release date for Magic Mike's Last Dance is Feb. 10, 2023, with the film also gearing up for a streaming debut on HBO Max.
