The king of Sindria, Sinbad is one of the most impressive members of the cast of Magi: Kingdom of Magic.  He presents a new way for the world to exist, creating the Sindria Trading Company out of a desire to eliminate conflict in the world.  The character isn't a lead for the series, but he's such a likable character thanks to his bold personality and willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve his ideals.

Because he's so influential, it's impossible for any character of real relevance to existing in the series without having to deal with him at some point, making him occasionally feel like as much of a protagonist as the protagonists.  Referred to as the "miracle" because he's so loved by the Rukh, here are ten facts only the biggest fans know about Sinbad.

10 Weak To Alcohol

Sinbad is one of the older characters within the series, at least as far as one of the main characters goes. When Magi starts he’s already almost 30 years old, which makes him fairly ancient in anime. And like a ton of older characters, there’s little he likes more than some good alcohol. In the official guidebook for Magi, alcohol is listed as Sinbad’s weakness.

9 Likes All Women

Though he’s not quite the model gentleman, Sinbad is quite gifted with words. In the Perfect Fanbook for Magi, he’s asked which kind of woman he prefers, and responds simply “All Women Are My Type.”

After he’s had a bit of alcohol in him, we’ve seen him flirt with literally any woman within range, from the princess of Kou to Morgiana.

8 Dislikes Greasy Foods

Sinbad’s favorite kind of food is snacks that are served with alcohol, which goes back to his preference for drinking as much as possible when he’s in his off time. He also loves fish, but seems to dislike any and all greasy foods. This probably turns him away from most fried dishes, which is good since it means he’s avoiding at least some things which aren’t healthy.

7 Doesn't Like Being Called An Old Man

The thing that bothers Sinbad the most is being called “uncle”, despite still being fairly young. He also really dislikes the idea of being called an old man, and the thing most likely to get his attention is pointing out any white hair they spot on his head.

Because Sinbad is fairly old compared to some of the younger people on the series, him being fairly sensitive about his age lines up with him feeling out of place among them all.

6 Meaning Of His Name

Sinbad’s name has a ton of different meanings, though they all line up with him being the head of the Sind. Sindria is connected to the word “Sindh” and is meant to be based on India. With Sinbad’s name meaning lord of the Sindh, it makes sense that he’s the ruler of Sindria. Of course, his name really comes from the main character of the story Sinbad the Sailor.

5 Has Multiple Character Songs

Sinbad is a man of many talents and prefers to have as many things as possible. As a result, unlike some of the other characters who have only one Character Song, Sinbad actually has three different themes.

His main theme is Sail for Triumph, which talks about his quests as a sailor to try and save everyone and change the world. His other two themes are Glorious Sindria, which talks about how great the country he has is, and then Life Goes On.

4 First Person To Conquer Multiple Dungeons

What makes Sinbad stand out the most is him having conquered so many different dungeons. It took so much time for someone to solve even one, and he managed to grab one at the age of fourteen. After that, he continued to capture them one by one, grabbing a total of seven before he was finally told he simply couldn’t enter any more dungeons. No other character has ever had this happen to them before.

2 Wants Aladdin

One of the things Sinbad thinks about the most is how he can get Aladdin on his side. In his quest to wipe out Al-Thamenm he sees Aladdin as a useful ally that could aid him. However, as much as he wants Aladdin to aid his country, he’s long been aware that this isn’t something that could ever happen. This doesn’t stop him from trying to convince Aladdin to join his nation though.

1 Master Magoi User

Sinbad 08

Sinbad’s special ability is listed as Magoi Manipulation. This is what allows him to negate the abilities of someone he’s fighting, though it doesn’t last for very long. A lot of this comes from his ability to use black and white magoi, which makes him unique in the series as not another character has this ability. This mastery of both forms of magoi leads to other issues later in the series.
