One of the biggest villains to menace the Hulk was a sinister version of himself from an alternate future timeline that dubbed himself the Maestro. The villain will star in his own comic book miniseries next month, detailing his fiendish origins.

Created by Peter David and George Pérez in the acclaimed 1992 miniseries Hulk: Future Imperfect as a cunning, evil incarnation of the Jade Giant, Maestro was an instant hit with fans. David returns to the character co-created with artists Dale Keown and Germán Peralta for a five-issue miniseries, with Marvel Comics releasing a first look teaser trailer for the Maestro's rise to power.

Shown escaping confinement in a futuristic lab, the trailer has the fledgling Maestro smash through heavily armed soldiers while a younger Hulk is seen easily decapitating a Sentinel with a single mighty blow, likely before the nuclear armageddon that results in the Hulk's transformation into the villain.

Future Imperfect had revealed that the Hulk's absorption of all the radioactive fallout from the apocalypse had driven him to evil while significantly augmenting his strength, making him visibly more powerful than his main Marvel Universe counterpart and infinitely more devious. With the upcoming miniseries, fans will get the chance to see the Hulk's full transformation into the Maestro as the end times come for his future.
