Sony Pictures' Madame Web has wrapped filming.

Duane Charles Manwiller, director of photography on the Spider-Man spinoff, shared an image on Instagram of a clapperboard from the set of Madame Web, revealing the film's official logo. "Coming soon (kind of) to a theatre near you," he wrote in the caption. In the comments, Manwiller confirmed that Madame Web had officially wrapped filming.

In November 2022, a photo of crewmembers from the set of Madame Web seemingly revealed the film's red-and-blue logo, similar to the color scheme of Spider-Man's suit. This is a stark difference from the red-and-yellow logo shown in Manwiller's clapperboard photo.

Madame Web Officially Wraps Filming

Production on Madame Web began in Boston in July, with reports stating filming would continue into October 2022. Around this time, it was reported that Adam Scott would appear in the film as Uncle Ben, though this has not been officially confirmed by Marvel or Sony. Dakota Johnson will portray Cassandra Web/Madame Web, while Sydney Sweeney will reportedly portray Julia Carpenter, another character who has taken on the mantle of both Spider-Woman and Madame Web. Madame Web also stars Mike Epps, Tahar Rahim, Isabela Merced, Celeste O'Connor, Zosia Mamet and Emma Roberts.

Cassandra Webb, aka Madame Web, made her Marvel Comics debut in The Amazing Spider-Man #210 in 1980, written by Denny O'Neil and John Romita Jr. As a mutant, Cassandra's abilities range from telepathy to clairvoyance, though she suffers from myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disease that left her blind, paralyzed and on life support. Despite her condition, she was also to use her abilities as a medium to help heroes like Spider-Man and, before her death, transferred her power to Julia Carpenter, who was the second incarnation of Spider-Woman and, subsequently, the second Madame Web. The character has also been used in other media to unite Spider-People from other worlds.

Madame Web will be the sixth installment in Sony Pictures' ongoing live-action film franchise based on Spider-Man characters, which began with Venom in 2018 and was followed by the 2021 sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The most recent was the Jared Leto-led Morbius in 2022, which will be followed by Kraven the Hunter on Oct. 6, 2023 and El Muerto, starring Bad Bunny, set to release on Jan. 12, 2024.

In September, it was announced that Sony had delayed the releases of both Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web. Initially scheduled for Jan. 13, Kraven the Hunter will now premiere on Madame Web's original release date of Oct. 6. Directed by S.J. Clarkson, Sony's Madame Web is now set to release in theaters on Feb. 16, 2024.
