From The Mandalorian to the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show, Disney+ has revived some major characters in the Star Wars Universe, and rumor has it, they're adding one more to the list.

According to DanielRPK’s Patreon, Lucasfilm is reportedly looking to develop a new project centered around a young Mace Windu. The rumor suggests the studio would cast a new actor to play the young Jedi but is expected to bring back Samuel L. Jackson to reprise his role as the adult version of the character.

Mace Windu, wielder of the iconic purple lightsaber, was introduced in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as a Master of the Jedi Council. Although Anakin Skywalker cut off his arm and Darth Sidious Force-pushed him out the window in Revenge of the Sith, there are many fan theories that suggest the Jedi is still alive. Samuel L. Jackson himself even stated last year that Mace Windu could return.

"I'd really love to give one more run at Mace Windu in Star Wars," Jackson said on The Late Show last June. "There's a long history of one-handed guys that were Jedis, that have lightsabers, that still made it. Jedis can fall from incredible heights and not die, like cats."

The Patreon report is currently just a rumor that states Lucasfilm has considered taking on the potential Mace Windu project and has not decided on moving forward yet. However, a Mace Windu show would fit with other planned projects Lucasfilm has in store for the Star Wars Universe.

The studio is currently developing an Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+ that will take place eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and 11 years prior to A New Hope. Ewan McGregor is expected to reprise his role as Obi-Wan and recently revealed that the show will release as a single standalone season.

DanielRPK’s Patreon also reported back in May that Lucasfilm is also eyeing an Ahsoka Tano show. Also just a rumor, the report suggests the potential new series would launch on Disney+.
