Macaulay Culkin has offered his services to relieve Archie Comics of an overwhelming number of pitches for a "gritty Richie Rich reboot."The actor's declaration came in response to a tweet from Archie Comics' official Twitter account. It read, "Richie Rich is not an Archie Comics character. Please stop sending us pitches for a gritty Richie Rich reboot. Thank you." It's assumed the responses come from the success of the CW series Riverdale, which casts Archie, Betty, Jughead and the gang in a much darker and more dramatic tone than its source material. Thanks to the success of that adaptation, fans have been looking for similar reboots of long-running comic book series, including, apparently, Richie Rich. What many failed to recognize, though, is that Richie Rich is owned by Harvey Comics, not Archie.RELATED: Home Alone's Macaulay Culkin Reprises His Role as Kevin McCallister for GoogleEnter Macaulay Culkin. The Home Alone star and Pizza Underground frontman had played the world's wealthiest kid previously in the 1994 live-action adaptation. As such, he volunteered to alleviate Archie Comics of their conundrum, tweeting, "Don't send your Richie Rich pitches to Archie Comics. Send them to me."

However, his offer seems to be anything but sincere, as he follows with, "I won't read them or anything, but you can send them and feel like you're accomplishing something," clearly taking a shot at those who have inundated the comics provider. The tweet has received almost 18,000 likes and even a response from Archie Comics, complaining about how the majority of their responses use the same joke comparing Richie Rich to Batman, or even the sitting United States president.

Culkin's tweet continues a trend of his resurgence back into the spotlight while poking fun at his past. It started back in January 2018, when he re-emerged to launch Bunny Ears, a comedy website and podcast that parodied other celebrity brands like Gwyneth Paltrow's "Goop." Last winter, he appeared in a commercial for Google Assistant, re-enacting famous scenes from Home Alone now aided by the A.I. device. He also spent 2018 appearing on several popular YouTube channels, including the Angry Video Game Nerd and RedLetterMedia.
