"'Marvel's Agent Carter' opens up an exciting world of new characters for us," Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television told Marvel.com. "Lyndsy brings a warmth and humanity to Angie, who'll be the friend Peggy needs if she's to survive the dangers that lie ahead."
Fonseca is no stranger to the comics adaptation world, having appeared in the "Kick-Ass" films as Katie -- though she may be best known for her appearances throughout the nine seasons of "How I Met Your Mother" as the daughter, Penny Mosby, or her role as Alex on "Nikita." Fonseca's "Agent Carter" character, Angie, was rumored to be a part of the series in July -- and early character descriptions cast her as an automat waitress with aspirations of being a professional singer. With the new character descriptions indicating that Angie is a hopeful actress, it's entirely possible that subtle changes have been made to her character from the initial rumors.
The actress joins fellow cast members Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Chad Michael Murray, Ever Gjokaj, James D'Arcy and Shea Whigham. The series written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley airs in 2015 on ABC.
"Agent Carter" is set to air on ABC in 2015.
