The first official look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was revealed in July at Comic-Con International, and by and large, reactions seem to be positive. But there's one person close to the character who isn't wild about the Amazon warrior's new aesthetic.

Speaking with Access Hollywood, former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter confessed she isn't the biggest fan of the character's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice costume, specifically because she misses "the red, white and blue" aspects of the uniform.

"Maybe there's a lot more color in it than what we saw in the picture," said the actress, who starred as the iconic heroine on the 1975-1979 television series. "It's almost impossible to play a superhero anyway. You can't. You just have to play a character that happens to do these amazing things. That's the only way you can do it. And the costumes all take care of themselves, but it was a little more – I'll have to wait and see."

"I hate to comment on something that I haven't seen, and I'm very supportive of Gal Gadot," Carter continued. "I'm very supportive of them doing Wonder Woman, putting her in any capacity. I think she needs to be out there. ... It's high time somebody took a chance and did it and so I'm really happy about that."

Like it or not, Wonder Woman (and her new look) debuts in Batman v Superman, in theaters on March 25, 2016.
