The Warp has received confirmation that actor Luke Evans is no longer attached to star in Relativity Studios' reboot of "The Crow."

Evans was initially brought on to take the role of Eric Draven when F. Javier Gutierrez was attached to direct the film. However, when Guiterrez left the project to direct Paramount's next entry in "The Ring" franchise, "Rings," and was replaced by Corin Hardy, production was postponed. With other projects in the pipeline, Evans no longer had space for "The Crow."

The actor made statements to that effect in December. "No, at the minute 'The Crow' is not, not for me," he said. "I think it's a little... I mean I'm sure it's going to go ahead at some point, but I have other projects that are greenlit and ready to go and projects that I'm very interested in and you know, I can't wait much longer!"

For now, Hardy and Relativity are on the hunt for a new lead actor.
