Marvel and Netflix have released a new clip from the upcoming "Marvel's Luke Cage," offering the best look to date at Mahershala Ali's Cottonmouth. In the clip, the Harlem crime lord explains to an injured and bleeding prisoner why he has a large photo of the Notorious B.I.G. on his wall, succinctly summarizing his character for viewers.

"Marvel's Luke Cage" is the latest in Netflix and Marvel's series of "street-level" hero series. The show was developed by Cheo Hodari Coker, who will also serve as executive producer, and stars Mike Colter as the titular character who has super strength and unbreakable skin due to an experiment gone wrong.

Colter's Cage debuted in "Marvel's Jessica Jones," where audiences saw him in action as both a kick-ass bartender and Jessica's love interest.

The 13-episode series premieres September 30 on Netflix.
