In the wake of this revelation, the official Luke Cage Twitter page posted an image of Mike Colter as the titular character standing tall on the stylized streets of Harlem. Boldly displayed on his torso is the mantra Henry "Pop" Hunter passed on to Harlem's Hero back in Luke Cage Season 1: "Always Forward."

Following last week's cancellation of Iron Fist, a report surfaced indicating the title character would return in some way in the future. This confident Tweet seems to suggest that Luke Cage will live on as well, even though his solo series has effectively come to an end.
Given the close proximity of Luke Cage's cancelation to that of Iron Fist, fans have already begun speculating that a Heroes for Hire/Power Man and Iron Fist series could be in the works, be it for Netflix or Disney's upcoming streaming service. However, while those attached to the shows have expressed interest in such a project, Marvel has yet to make any sort of announcement.
With Luke Cage and Iron Fist both over, it will be interesting to see what comes next for Marvel's Netflix lineup. As it stands, Daredevil just launched its third season, The Punisher has wrapped production on its second, Jessica Jones has officially been renewed for its third and The Defenders is currently being kept on ice.
No matter what happens next, however, it certainly seems like a good time for fans of Marvel television to take Pop's wise words to heart.
Streaming now on Netflix, Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2 stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Mustafa Shakir, Gabrielle Dennis, Rosario Dawson, and Reg E. Cathey.
