The newest trailer for Season 2 of Netflix's Luke Cage begins with the titular hero literally on fire, before introducing the latest threats looking to take down the beloved hero's Harlem.
Along with getting our first look at Mustafa Shakir as Bushmaster, the trailer also sees Misty Knight in action fighting alongside Luke Cage with her brand new metal arm.
Luke Cage has become a local hero after the events of Season 1, but there's one person who doesn't seem happy with all the attention he's receiving. A voice off camera can be heard saying, "Everybody talking about Luke Cage like he's Jesus." While women and children flock to get their picture taken with the "Bulletproof Black Man," Luke is reminded that one man can't save a community.
We learn the mystery narrator is Bushmaster, who attacks Luke on the street and leaves him beaten and bloody. Luke Cage will have to accept help from a willing partner if he has any hope of keeping Harlem safe from the likes of Bushmaster, Black Mariah and Shades.
In “Marvel’s Luke Cage” Season 2, after clearing his name, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so well known has only increased the pressure he feels to protect the community. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
Arriving June 22 on Netflix, Luke Cage stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Rosario Dawson, Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis.
