The second season of Marvel's Luke Cage is already a certified hit with critics.
The sophomore outing of the drama, which arrived today on Netflix, now holds a Tomatometer score of 84 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been certified fresh by the review aggregator website. While that rating is a significant drop from the first season's 94 percent, that figure will undoubtedly fluctuate as more reviews are taken into account.
The rating puts the average for the two-season series at an 88 percent, on par with fellow Marvel Netflix series Jessica Jones, at 88 percent, and Daredevil, at 86 percent.. For comparison, The Defenders, which featured Cage heavily, earned a 75 percent, while Iron Fist and The Punisher stand at 17 percent and 63 percent, respectively.
CBR's review found that Season 2 "improves upon the original," and highlight the performances of stars Mike Colter and Alfre Woodard.
