It has been several years since the cancellation of Luke Cage and its companion shows on Netflix. In the years since then, the return of the titular superhero has been the subject of speculation. As is the case with others involved in Netflix's Defenders miniseries. Star Mike Colter recently called his return as the hero a "possibility."

In an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Colter was asked about the potential for a reboot of some kind. The actor said, "There is [a possibility], I guess, I just don't know how likely it is, and I don't have anything tangible to offer. People always ask me, 'Is it possible?' and I'm like, 'Anything's possible'. They live on rumors and I go, 'I mean, you know as much as I know.' People read those articles, that's the exact same amount of information that I have."

He went on to add, "I'd be open to it, yeah. I mean I had a great time, and I've had a nice break from that much action, in terms of physical action, in terms of filming a superhero show. So I'd be up for it again, but when I left I was pretty tired physically. It's like, you know, when you play a sport you need a little off-season. So it was fun to take a break, you know?"

While there was a time when it seems the Marvel Cinematic Universe would completely ignore the events of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, The Punisher and Iron Fist, recent projects have proven there is a good chance some, if not all these characters could appear once again.

That much was suggested by the appearance of actor Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, reprising his Daredevil role in a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This was followed shortly after by the appearance of his Daredevil co-star Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin in the Hawkeye series on Disney+. However, it has not been confirmed if these are the exact same characters or if they are variants from around the multiverse, which now includes the former Netflix Marvel shows.

Luke Cage, along with Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Daredevil, Iron Fist and The Defenders; is now available for streaming on Disney+.
