With recent rumors that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' untitled Spider-Man 3, fans have wondered if the other heroes that appeared in Marvel and Netflix's shows will follow suit. However, Luke Cage star Mike Colter said that Marvel hasn't approached him to reprise the role.

"I got to say, I rarely think about it in the sense of what could be or will be, I know fans are eager to see something with the character," Colter told ComingSoon.net. "I know I established him and it was an honor to do that, but I don’t know what the future holds, I’m just in my mode of doing Evil right now and a few films on hiatus. If something happens, I’d love to have a conversation with them, but for now I’m not holding my breath, I’m happy either way, it was a good run."

Colter first portrayed Cage in Season 1 of Marvel's Jessica Jones and reprised the role for both seasons of Marvel's Luke Cage and the Defenders miniseries. His portrayal of Cage hewed very close to the comics, as he was framed for a crime he didn't commit and subjected to an experiment that left him with unbreakable skin and superhuman strength.

Colter currently has a starring role on the CBS show Evil, where he portrays Catholic assessor David Acosta. He will also appear in the thriller film Fatale, starring Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy.

Created and produced by Cheo Hodari Coker, Luke Cage stars Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Erik LaRay Harvey, Rosario Dawson, Alfre Woodard, Gabrielle Dennis and Mustafa Shakir. Both seasons are currently streaming on Netflix and Season 1 is available on DVD.
