This past weekend at Baltimore Comic Con, Mike Colter revealed which scene working with Mustafa Shakir on Season 2 of Luke Cage was his favorite.

Shakir joined the Marvel Netflix series' main cast as the villainous Bushmaster, a Jamaican crime lord who augmented his strength through rare herbs and set his sights on taking over Harlem. During his spotlight panel in Baltimore, Colter revealed that his favorite scene working with Shakir featured a team-up between the two characters instead of a confrontation.

"Bushmaster and I went to a factory and, you know, were fighting all the Asian henchmen and it was fun. Wu-Tang Clan was playing. That was fun," Colter recalled. "We filmed that in one day, but the thing about that scene was that normally we have a couple days, or at least a few days where we get to see the choreography done by our stunt doubles and then we can go in and rehearse the moves and get it done for ourselves so on the day it's not completely new."

Taking place in the second season's twelfth episode, the sequence sees the two enemies temporarily team up to shut down a heroin operation by the Chinese Triads flooding drugs into Harlem. After a lengthy fight scene, the two characters resume their usual antagonistic relationship.

"The thing is, they already did it with our stunt doubles so they put me and Mustafa in there and we knew nothing," Colter admitted. "Well, the Asian stunt guys are fighting at level ten and they, like, know everything, going full speed, and we're just, like, reacting. We don't have the moves, so, like, we're punching when we should be kicking. It was just chaos."

Streaming now on Netflix, Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2 stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Mustafa Shakir, Gabrielle Dennis, Rosario Dawson, and Reg E. Cathey.
