Luke Cage does his best impersonation of Batman ally Commissioner James Gordon in an exclusive first look at Heroes Reborn: American Knights #1.

CBR has the exclusive first look at Heroes Reborn: American Knights #1 by writer Paul Grist, artists Chris Allen and Marc Deering, colorist Guru-eFX and letterer Cory Petit. The preview pages feature Luke Cage, who is the police commissioner of Washington, DC. Luke Cage's status quo pre-Heroes Reborn placed him as a member of the Defenders and Heroes for Hire, where he was a street vigilante. Now, he's head of a police department and reporting directly to the Squadron Supreme, who have replaced the Avengers in Heroes Reborn. In another nod to Batman, Luke Cage can be seen conversing with Nighthawk on a dark rooftop above the city.

Marvel fans will also recognize three other characters that make an appearance in Heroes Reborn: American Knights #1 -- a twin bat-wielding Daredevil, and detectives Jessica Jones and Misty Knight, with the latter featuring a golden metal arm.
