One Piece Film: Red released new poster art, casting details, and a tantalizing new trailer.

While previous previews have revealed that plenty of characters from the series' massive roster of characters will appear in its latest movie, Film: Red's poster concentrates on just three characters: central protagonist Luffy; the pirate captain who gave him his straw hat, Red-Haired Shanks; and the series' newest character, a singer named Uta, who was revealed to be Shanks' estranged daughter. The movie's newest trailer also concentrates on the trio of characters, and shows multiple scenes of Luffy and Shanks interacting with each other, including a flashback that reveals they previously met when they were much younger, and a present-day scene in which Luffy reveals to a crowd that Uta is Shanks' daughter. The trailer is set to the movie's new theme song, "Shinjidai" (roughly translated as "New Generation") by Ado, a J-pop musician who will provide Uta's singining voice.

Toei Animation also announced two new additions to the show's voice cast: Kenjiro Tsuda, who previously voiced Kentaro Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, will play the role of Gordon, an imposing new figure who has some kind of connection to Uta. Uta will be played Kaori Nazuka, who previously starred in Eureka Seven and Fairy Tail. The two will join Luffy's voice actor, Mayumi Tanaka, and the rest of the show's usual cast, who will all reprise their roles for the movie.

One Piece Film: Red is the 15th theatrical release in the long-running series, and sees the Straw Hat Pirates traveling to a new island in order to attend a famous music festival. All of the members of the crew, as well as a few of the series' reoccuring characters, will receive new punk-rock themed costumes for the movie. Series creator Eiichiro Oda is supervising production of the new movie. The script for the new film is being penned by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who previously wrote One Piece Film: Gold. The Straw Hats' latest theatrical outing is being directed by Goro Taniguchi, who is best known for his work on Code Geass.
