Lucy Davis appeared in 2017's Wonder Woman as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman's friend Etta Candy, who the hero meets when coming to London for the first time. Now, Davis has revealed that her character subtly made an appearance in the film's recently released sequel, Wonder Woman 1984.

Davis shared a photo on Instagram featuring images of her character from both films with the image from Wonder Woman 1984 showing the actor dressed as an elderly version of Etta. "Did you catch the little photo of elderly Etta who remained friends with Diana all along?" Davis commented on the image. "It was so good to say hi and catch up with everyone for just one day."

In Wonder Woman, Etta appeared as Steve Trevor's secretary, who helps Diana better understand the world outside of Themyscira. Notably, the character also appears in the Wonder Woman comic series as Diana's best friend. Created by William Moulton Marston and H. G. Peter, Etta first appeared in 1942's Sensation Comics #2. The character has also made appearances in several other DC Comics series, including Seven Soldiers: Zatanna and Superman & Batman: Generations.

Wonder Woman 1984 recently premiered in theaters and on the HBO streaming service, HBO Max. While technical issues were experienced by some HBO Max users, the film had a fairly smooth and reportedly successful premiere on the streaming service.

Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film is now available in theaters and on HBO Max.
