Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson recently shared his excitement for actor D.B. Woodside's (Amenadiel) directorial debut in Season 6.
Henderson shared an image of the script for Season 6, Episode 8, along with the caption, "So damn excited for the directorial debut of @dbwofficial on #Lucifer!!!" The image also revealed that the episode is titled "Save the Devil, Save the World" and was written by Aiyana White.
Woodside first revealed he would be directing an episode for the show's sixth and final season in July. At the time, he tweeted, "Happy to announce that I will be returning to Lucifer for Season 6. Additionally, I will be directing an episode for our final season. This is a beautiful cast. We stand by each other. We fight for one another." Woodside has starred as Amenadiel -- the eldest of all God's angels and Lucifer's older brother -- since Season 1.
Woodside also shared his excitement as well, posting on Twitter, "This is gonna be fun."
Henderson's tweet came in the wake of the show dropping a "fancam"-shot compilation video on the official Lucifer Twitter on New Year's Eve that recapped what's gone on so far, and ended with God telling Lucifer, "I've come to ask you something."
Season 5a ended with God (Dennis Haysbert) returning to Earth for the first time since creating the planet to confront Lucifer and his angelic brothers. Earlier this month, the Lucifer Twitter account teased Season 5b's future plotlines with a vague tweet that read, "Here's a little piece of 5B info: *** will tap into his ***** side."
Lucifer first premiered on Fox in 2016 and ran for three seasons before being canceled. Then, the supernatural series was revived by Netflix. The series will conclude its run after its release of Season 5b and Season 6. While Netflix has yet to reveal when the second half of Season 5 will premiere, the cast and crew returned to set in September to finish filming after being delayed by the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
