The sixth and final season of Lucifer is coming to Netflix, and it's sooner than many fans had expected after the long wait for Season 5B. The ten-episode season will be available to stream on Sep. 10, 2021.

The news came as part of the Lucifer panel in Comic-Con@Home, along with a brief clip from Season 6 that provided a sneak peek at what's going on in the Devil's life after the big changes he (and the world) underwent at the end of Season 5.

The newly revealed footage came after a compilation of clips that followed Lucifer's path from the first episode to the latest one released. In the scene, Lucifer's convertible is pulled over by a cop on a motorcycle, just as happened in the very first scene of the series. This time, he's wearing a white tuxedo, and the only thing he says is, "I apologize. This is my last night in LA."

Starring Tom Ellis, Lauren German, D.B. Woodside, and Lesley-Ann Brandt, Lucifer is based on the comic series of the same name and follows the Devil, also known as Lucifer Morningstar, as he takes a vacation from ruling Hell and attempts to understand humanity and his place in it. The final episode of Season 5 showed him taking over the mantle of ruler of the universe after his father, God, decides to retire, but the repercussions of this upheaval are yet to be seen.
