Now that the popular DC/Vertigo series Lucifer has been saved by Netflix, fans can stop dwelling on the possibility of the shocking cliffhangers of the Season 3 finale never getting a proper resolution. Not only will Season 4 continue the story, it's also set to launch a brand new one with the introduction of a new character with ties to Lucifer Morningstar's past.

When answering reader questions, TVLine revealed that Season 4 of Netflix's Lucifer will introduce this new character -- a character who is set to change everything about the show. Co-showrunner Joe Henderson made the announcement to the television news website, while adding that the new addition to the cast will "bring a whole new dimension to everything."

While there is literally nothing to give us a hint about the identity of this mysterious new character, TVLine does go on to confirm that Henderson wasn't referring to Azrael, aka the Angel of Death. So there is at least one name that can be crossed off the list.

Lucifer was recently rescued from cancellation by the streaming service giant Netflix after the Fox network pulled the plug on the series. Due to incredible fan support, the series was brought back from the dead, and viewers will now have to chance to binge Season 4 in one go when new episodes all drop at the same time.
