Following in the footsteps of The Flash, Lucifer has suspended production due to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

TVLine reports Season 5 was nearing the end of production when it was suspended. The season was originally intended to be the show's last, though Netflix and Warner Bros. are negotiating for a sixth season. Star Tom Ellis had even recently signed a contract extension, should negotiations result in a deal.

Television isn't the only entertainment impacted by the spread of coronavirus. Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association have all suspended their seasons. Disney's Mulan and The New Mutants have been pulled from the studio's release schedule; Universal pushed James Bond film No Time to Die from April to November. Sony also bounced Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway from April to August. Tom Hanks' latest film shut down when he, his wife and some of the crew tested positive for coronavirus. Just yesterday, Universal announced F9 will now release next year instead of this May, while A Quiet Place Part 2 was also pulled.

Helmed by Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, Lucifer Season 4 stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. Season 5 is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2020.
