For those who have yet to watch all three seasons of Fox and Netflix’s Lucifer, the Devil’s Los Angeles conquests may feel as long and varied as his time in Hell — and equally impossible to keep up with. Thankfully, a new promo for the show tells viewers what they need to get ready for in time for Season 4.In classic Lucifer fashion, Tom Ellis lays down the foundations of the Devil’s relationship with Detective Chloe Decker, as well as his angelic older brother Amenadiel and demonic colleague Mazikeen Smith’s much variegated experience on Earth, mingling with the humans they used to look down on. The harrowing events surrounding Lucifer’s Mom “Goddess” and the world’s first murderer Cain/Marcus Pierce were also addressed in a series of montages from previous seasons.RELATED: Lucifer: Tom Ellis Strips in First Netflix Promo

Following an attempt to rebel against God, the fallen angel Samael forges the human identity known only as Lucifer Morningstar and launches his own nightclub called Lux. During one particularly upsetting murder, the Devil crosses paths with Chloe Decker, a well-meaning, hard-as-nails police detective working for the LAPD, as well as a varied cast of friends and frenemies, including Decker’s ex-husband Detective Dan Espinoza, Lucifer’s psychotherapist Dr. Linda Martin and forensic scientist Ella Lopez.
