Joe Henderson, co-showrunner of Netflix's Lucifer, knows that some fans of the show love the slow-burning romance between the Devil and Detective Chloe Decker -- and he says the writers do too.

During a recent interview with Word Balloon, Henderson fielded many questions about the two characters' future together. Although he was careful to avoid major spoilers for the upcoming Season 5B and Season 6, he was openly encouraging toward fans who wanted Lucifer and Chloe's relationship to thrive, saying, "You guys are gonna be very happy with certain things that are coming up."

From the beginning of the series, Lucifer has had complex feelings toward his partner Chloe, who is mysteriously immune to his power of drawing out people's desires, and whose presence causes him to lose his celestial invulnerability. After she went through a difficult journey accepting that he was truly the Devil and that she loved him in return, Chloe and Lucifer officially became a couple in the first part of Season 5.

Fans dubbed the relationship with the portmanteau "Deckerstar," and many are anxious to find out how it will progress when the second half of the season drops. During the interview, there were questions about whether Chloe and Lucifer would have a date, whether they would discuss Lucifer's immortality, and whether Chloe would fly with Lucifer, or kiss his "Devil face" that had previously frightened her.

Henderson kept his answers vague, often replying with only, "That would be cool," but made it clear that he was also personally in favor of the romance: "You’re gonna be very happy," he said. "So, we are Deckerstar fans, we love Deckerstar as much as you guys do, we gotcha."
