Although there are some pretty significant differences between Lucifer in the comics and on TV, that doesn't mean the series is without its Easter eggs and nods to the source material. In this video, we're going to lay out some of the biggest nods to the comic book series in Lucifer.

In Lucifer Season 1, the titular devil and his brother Amenadiel find themselves at odds, which leads to a lot of banter between the two characters. During a conversation between the two in the show's pilot, Lucifer makes reference to eating Amenadiel's heart at some point in the future. However, this isn't just Lucifer messing around. Instead, it's actually a reference to a dark moment from the comics in which Lucifer does eat Amenadiel's heart. So far, this hasn't happened in the show, and considering that their relationship has improved somewhat, is unlikely to occur at any point in the future.

Created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, DC's Lucifer Morningstar first appeared in 1989's The Sandman #4. Lucifer, which focuses on the title character, debuted on Fox in 2016 before later moving to Netflix. The series has been renewed for a sixth and final season. Outside of his own series, Tom Ellis reprised his role as Lucifer for the Arrowverse's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event.
