Louis Leterrier's Now You See Me Conjures Jesse Eisenberg

Jesse Eisenberg is in talks to star in Now You See Me, the offbeat magician-heist film from director Louis Leterrier, Variety reports.

Summit Entertainment has also made offers to Jake Gyllenhaal, who starred in the studio's techno-thriller Source Code, and Inglourious Basterds actress Melanie Laurent. The trade paper notes that negotiations with Eisenberg and Gyllenhaal are still in the early stages, "so don't be surprised if one or the other pulls a disappearing act due to scheduling, which is still being worked out."

As we reported in February, Now You See Me follows a group of the world's greatest illusionists who pull off bank heists during their act and deliver the profits to their audience. The film, written by Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt, positions the FBI and the magicians in a game of cat and mouse.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing, while Bobby Cohen will executive produce with Yakin.
