The following contains spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1, now streaming on Prime Video.

The Rings of Power was pretty polarizing for the LOTR fanbase. Some fans really disliked the series from the very beginning, while others wanted to give it a chance. Now that Season 1 is over and done, there hasn't been much changing of opinion. The people who disliked it from the beginning probably didn't care for the Sauron reveal or Meteor Man being an unidentifed Istari. On the other hand, fans who wanted to like the series have mostly enjoyed the adaptation.

One thing that fans can agree on, though, was The Rings of Power's weapons. Because swords, axes and spears are such an important part of The Lord of the Rings, it was important that the series get them right -- and it did. The original weapons were cool, and the storied weapons were accurate. So, here's a look at the most important weapons from The Rings of Power, ranked.

1. The Shards Of Narsil Will Cripple Sauron

Rings of Power Narsil

The sword Narsil is the single most important weapon on The Rings of Power -- and maybe the whole The Lord of the Rings franchise. It's the sword that Elendil ends up wielding during the War of the Last Alliance and in his fight with Sauron. During that fight, he and Gil-galad defeat the Dark Lord but die for their efforts. After that, Isildur takes up the shards of Narsil and cuts the One Ring from Sauron's finger, crippling his power and bringing thousands of years of peace. Years later, Elrond would reforge the sword and give it to Aragorn as a sign of his kingship over Gondor. Narsil can briefly be seen in Míriel's palantír room in Episode 4, "The Great Wave."

2. Galadriel's Dagger Has Past And Future Significance

The second most important weapon on The Rings of Power is Galadriel's dagger. While it doesn't have a name of its own, it was made in Valinor and belonged to Galadriel's brother, Finrod. In the finale, The Rings of Power showed that it will also play a role in the future. When making the Elven rings of power, Celebrimbor found that he needed pure silver and gold to bond with the mithril. So, he melted down Galadriel's dagger and used it to forge the three rings that would protect Middle-earth against Sauron.

3. Theo's Sword Created Mordor

Galadriel's dagger will end up protecting Middle-earth from evil, but Theo's hilt/sword helped create that evil. Theo found the hilt under Waldreg's barn, and it was immediately clear that it possessed dark magic from either Sauron or Morgoth. As such, a lot of viewers thought that the weapon would corrupt Theo, but things were much worse. Adar got his hands on the weapon (which was actually a key) and used it to make Mount Doom erupt, creating the desolate land of Mordor.

4. Gil-galad Will Wield Aeglos Against Sauron

Gil-Galad from Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power holding his spear Aeglos.

Gil-galad's spear (which is technically a weapon called a glaive) may be the coolest weapon on this list. It's called Aeglos, which means "snow-point" or "icicle" in Sindarin. Gil-galad used it throughout the War of the Last Alliance, and it became greatly feared among the Orcs. The high king also used it in his battle with Sauron on the slopes of Mount Doom, but the weapon's fate after the duel is unknown. Aeglos can briefly be seen the Season 1 finale, when Elrond talks to a departing Gil-galad.

5. Durin's Hammer Was a Show of Dwarven Craftsmanship

Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Durin IV holds his Hammer

Durin's hammer wasn't seen a lot on The Rings of Power's first season. In fact, he never used it in combat. However, he did use it to beat Elrond in a stone-breaking competition. Hopefully, he will get to use it more in Season 2 because it is said that the Dwarves' weapons were unmatched, even by the Elven smiths.

6. Adar's Sword Was Made in the Depths of Time

Rings of Power has Adar as the Orc leader

Adar's character was one that sparked a lot of debate. Some fans thought that he fit into LOTR canon, while others didn't. Either way, his sword was pretty cool-looking. Its black, twisted handguard gave off an evil vibe and hinted that the weapon was made in the dark depths of time. Unfortunately, fans never got to see him use it in combat because he fled the battlefield when Galadriel's reinforcements showed up. Maybe fans will get to see it again in Season 2 because the Moriondor escaped during the creation of Mount Doom.

7. Arondir's Sword Had A High Kill Count

Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir in Prime Video's Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

As The Rings of Power's version of Legolas, Arondir turned out to be one of the best characters on the series. Early on, he was captured by Adar's Orcs, then released with a message for the people of the Southlands. Presumable, they gave him his sword back because he used it to rescue Theo and fight alongside the people of the Southlands. Nothing particular is known about the weapon, but it was of Elvish make, which means that it was a quality sword.
