Jeremy Davies, who played the time-jumping Daniel Faraday on Lost, will star opposite Timothy Olyphant in the second season of FX's neo-Western Justified.
The Live Feed reports that Davies will appear in "a heavily recurring role" as an adversary to Olyphant's tightly wound U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens.
Like the antagonist played by Walton Goggins (The Shield) in the first season, Davies' character will have complicated connections to Raylan's past: Dickie Bennett is described as "the smartest of three brothers and a high school rival of Givens. Since Prohibition, the Bennett and Givens families have warred like the Hatfields and McCoys. Dickie's family traffics in weed, for which Bennett spent time in prison. He still walks with a limp due to an altercation with Raylan on the baseball field when they were both 17."
Created by Graham Yost (Boomtown, Band of Brothers), Justified is based on the protagonist from Elmore Leonard's novels Pronto and Riding the Rap and the short story "Fire in the Hole." The series centers on Raylan Givens, a no-nonsense, Stetson-wearing lawman who’s reassigned to his native Eastern Kentucky after killing a gun thug in a Miami hotel.
FX released a trailer, of sorts, for the second season last week (you can watch it below). Unfortunately, it contains no new footage. On the plus side, though, it's set to the tune of Lissie's catchy "Little Lovin'." The new season of Justified premieres in February.
