Lost star Josh Holloway is joining the rapidly expanding ranks of the Impossible Mission Force for Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible 4, Risky Business reports.
It will be Holloway’s first major role since the end of the ABC series, on which he appeared for six seasons as the sarcastic con man/heartthrob James “Sawyer” Ford.
The fourth installment of Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible franchise already boasts returning stars Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, as well as new cast members Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Vladimir Mashkov and Michael Nyqvist. The ubiquitous J.J. Abrams, who’s producing the film with Cruise and Paula Wagner, worked on the story with frequent collaborators Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum (Alias), who wrote the screenplay.
The film, which will shoot in Vancouver, Prague and Dubai, is set for release in December 2011.
