The first two chapters of Lost Judgment see protagonist Takayuki Yagami investigating the connection between Seiryo High School and a recent murder victim. His search for the truth continues in Chapter 3, "Two Sides of the Same Coin," but things only get murkier as the game reveals Hiro Mikoshiba's murder may be even more than what it first seemed. Lost Judgment Chapter 3 also introduces a number of important characters, including Jin Kuwana.

Here's a guide to Lost Judgment Chapter 3," Two Sides of the Same Coin."

How to Complete the Arachnid Man Investigation

At the start of Lost Judgment Chapter 3, Yagami is waiting outside Chairman Okuda's office for Sawa-sensei, who has just learned that Mikoshiba was murdered. They have a fairly lengthy conversation and set up a meeting for later, where Sawa-sensei promises to reveal everything to him later that night at a café called "Plage." Once the conversation is over, leave Seiryo High School. Yagami will chat with Kaito and tell him what's going on.

Head over to Yokohama 99. Tsukumo briefs Yagami on what's going on and then explain the "Buzz Researcher," which is a way of finding and completing Lost Judgment's side-quest. Soon, Tsukumo gives Yagami the Noise Amp, which he can use to hear far away conversations, and start an investigation to find the "Arachnid Man."

Go to the marker on the map. Once he gets close, Yagami notes that he's in the right area. Pull out the Noise Amp and point it at the third balcony/into the alley at that same level. Yagami sees a man hanging precariously from a ledge and get the "The Falling Man" side-quest.

Look to Yagami's left at the air conditioners. Climb up them and then follow the pipes. Continually press up and Yagami should scale the building without having to stop. A woman comes up and panics about what's going on. Luckily, Yagami brings the man, who is named Tamai, and the young woman down to the ground level to talk. Tamai claims he was bird watching. Select all of the conversation options. Once that's done, Yagami enters investigation mode.

Go into investigation mode and circle around behind Tamai, He has a pair of panties in his back pocket. Tamai then tries to fight Yagami. He's pretty easy to take down, so enter Tiger style and keep up your attack until he goes down. With that, Yagami will have completed "The Falling Man." Go back to Yokohama 99 and talk to Tsukumo, who explains how he can research different keywords by listening in on conversations. He also opens up the bulletin board in the Yokohama 99 office.

How to Finish the Fight at Plage

Enough time will have passed that Yagami can now go to Plage. Make sure to stock up on healing items and fill up Yagami's health bar before going. Look at the map and head over to the café. Once Yagami gets outside, a gang called the Yokohama Liumang confront him. Like usual, focus first on disarming any opponents who are armed and then switch into Crane or Snake style to deal with the large number of enemies. They go down pretty easily, and there are a lot of weapons Yagami can use to inflict tons of damage.

The fight ends, and a "handyman" named Jin Kuwana appears and gets the Liumang to leave Yagami alone. Yagami then heads upstairs and finds Sawa-sensei, who was confronted by a mysterious woman, is no longer willing to talk. She gives Yagami a picture of Mikoshiba tied up just before his death. Yagami enters Quick Search Mode. Select Mikoshiba's face, his tie, either of his arms and the debris on the right side of the image.

Outside, Kuwana talks to Yagami again. Eventually, the conversation sours, and they start fighting. Either Tiger or Snake work well against Kuwana. Kuwana is a fairly fast fighter, so he's likely to land at least a few blows. Definitely use healing items where necessary. He also likes to block, so breaking his guard with Tiger is definitely handy. Towards the end of his first health bar, Kuwana starts using deadly attacks, which involve him moving his arms in a circle and then dashing at Yagami. Try and keep some distance and dodge just as he gets to Yagami to get a Mortal Reversal prompt.

Lost Judgment Unlocks a Ton of Side-Quests

Sugiura and Kaito then arrive and talk out what's going on. After that conversation ends, the "Extracting the Past" side case  starts when Yagami sees a man in black harassing a familiar fact: The original Judgment's master of extracts Iyama. Yagami  steps in to fight the man attacking Iyama. Take the Warrior's Onslaught Extract that Iyama-san gives Yagami and take down Kazamiya.

Iyama takes Yagami to his new brewing facility and start some side-quests for new extract recipes. It's definitely a good idea to do these sooner rather than later, as these recipes can be really helpful for getting Yagami out of a tight spot. The recipe he gets for completing "Extracting the Past" is Super Strength, which is super handy for dealing with large numbers of enemies quickly. All Yagami needs for this is some mugwort, which he can find pretty much anywhere.

After talking to Iyama, a lot of different side-quests become available, and now is a good time to do some of the first missions the game has to offer, as they can net some pretty great rewards. In particular, a quest just outside of the Sesil Café on the north side of the map unlocks Paradise VR, which is great for getting money. The first quest is also absurdly easy and gives Yagami enough money to afford pretty much anything he wants to buy. Also note there are also quests available in Kamurocho. Yagami can get back there by taking a taxi.

Once all of that is done, head back to Yokohama 99 and talk to Tsukumo. Together, he and Yagami will try and piece together what's going on, bringing Lost Judgment Chapter 3 to an end.

In early access now, Lost Judgment releases Sept. 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
