In Lost Judgment Chapter 9, protagonist Takayuki Yagami broke the mystery of Hiro Mikoshiba's death wide open, discovering Jin Kuwana -- a former teacher at Kurokawa Academy -- had been blackmailing his students into assisting him in murdering bullies all across Japan. At the end of that chapter, Kuwana escapes Yagami, so the detective spends Chapter 10 trying to track him down while unraveling the mystery of just why RK wants to kill him so badly. In the process, Yagami interrogates a number of people and faces off against some of the toughest enemies thus far.
Here's a guide to getting through Lost Judgment Chapter 10, "To Catch a Tiger."
How to Interrogate Yui Mamiya (Again)
At the start of Lost Judgment Chapter 10, Yagami takes pictures of his attackers -- the former Kurokawa Academy students -- so as to have some leverage against them later. The game then gives Yagami an opportunity to kill some time around town. There's no clear requirement for just when he gets called back, so just do some missions or mini-games and return to Charles when prompted.
Saori Shirosaki arrives at Charles and everyone subjects Yui Mamiya to a new round of questioning. Although the prompt implies there's only one piece of correct evidence that Yagami should show Mamiya, he must actually show her everything, as she'll explain just how Kuwana created an alibi for Akihiro Ehara. After the conversation ends, head to the Yagami Detective Agency to rest.
How to Interrogate Akihiro Ehara
In the morning, call a taxi and head to the Tokyo Detention Center to confront Ehara with the information gained from Mamiya and convince him to appeal his sexual harassment conviction. Ehara remains obstinate. When prompted, show him "Hiro Mikoshiba's Murder Footage." Next, select "Did Sawa-sensei tell you what happened?" Ehara explains the exact chain of events and essentially admits to murdering Mikoshiba.
Yagami and Saori then return to Kamurocho. Enter the Genda Law Office. Inside, Yagami and the lawyers discuss the case more. When prompted, select "We should listen to Saori-san." The conversation ends and Makoto Tsukumo asks Yagami to return to Yokohama 99. Exit the Genda Law Office and take a taxi back to Yokohama 99.
Go inside. Tsukumo notes RK is getting stronger in Isezaki Ijincho. Leave Yokohama 99 and walk around Yokohama. Eventually, Saori calls Yagami, who suggests talking to Reiko Kusumoto, the mother of Mitsuru Kusumoto and vice-minister as the Ministry of Health. As Saori notes, Kuwana approached parents prior to killing their bullies, so she believes the same may have been true of Reiko. When the conversation ends, return to Yokohama 99.
At Yokohama 99, Tsukumo, Fumiya Sugiura and Yagami do some more research into Reiko. However, they're interrupted by a news report claiming Jin Kuwana/Yu Kitakata is wanted in connection with the death of Yoko Sawa. Yagami then talks to Kisuke Watanabe on the phone. He explains footage of RK -- Sawa's really killers -- near the scene of the crime mysteriously disappeared. Although Watanabe ends the conversation, Tsukumo tracks him to Chinatown.
How to Beat Kisuke Watanabe
Stock up on healing items and restore Yagami's health. When ready, walk down the main street through the center of Chinatown to find Watanabe. After essentially confirming that a cover-up is going on, Yagami tries to coerce Watanabe into giving him more information, which results in a fight.
Snake or Tiger work just fine for Watanabe. Thanks to his baton, he hits pretty hard. So regardless of which style Yagami is in, dodge and return fire. Sometimes, Watanabe slips, which makes it very easy to do a lot of damage.
After losing his first health bar, there's a quick-time event. If Yagami fails this, it's game over so watch out. When that quick-time event has been successfully completed, Watanabe starts using deadly attacks, so prepare to land some mortal reversals. Since he also speeds up his attacks, Snake is probably the best choice for taking him down.
Once the fight ends, Watanabe explains an organization called Public Security, which is essentially Japan's spy ring, has been interfering in the case. Just why isn't clear, but Public Security is connected to RK and using the group to control crime in Kamurocho. Eventually, Watanabe gets called away, but he gives Yagami a hot tip about Kuwana's whereabouts: the Geomijul base.
How to Infiltrate the Geomijul Base
Restock any healing items used during the fight with Watanabe and head over to the marker on the map. When Yagami gets close, he discovers there's already a heavy police presence in the area. Luckily, Tsukumo helps out by creating a distraction with one of his drones and mapping out a route.
When the stealth segment starts, go around the back of the garbage truck. Go to the first cover point and throw a coin. In this stealth segment, Yagami can't perform takedowns, so don't even try. Sneak forward along the left side of the cars until Yagami reaches the next cover point. Throw a coin for the police officer and then turn the corner and go to the next cover point. After the cutscene, repeat the above process for the next police officer. However, this time, go into the alley immediately on Yagami's left to get the EX-4 piece of equipment.
Continue along the left side of the truck and then head over to the cover point on the right. Look up at Tsukumo's drone, which is just above the hood of the police car at the end of the street. After Tsukumo distracts the guards, head to the glowing symbol and go inside the Geomijul base.
How to Find Kuwana in the Geomijul Base
There's really not that much to see in the Geomijul base, so head up the stairs and open the marked door. After Yagami discovers some RK members hunting Kuwana, Sugiura appears to back the detective up. Head up the stairs and through the door. Keep climbing up the fire escape. Soon, Sugiura and Yagami come to a dead-end.
In search mode, go down the walkway to Yagami's right. At the end of this path, examine the sign with yellow and black arrows upwards. When the player ends the investigation, Sugiura and Yagami jump across. When the player gets control of Yagami again, jump up the three pipes and then shimmy to the left. Jump down and walk across the roofs until Yagami comes to another set of climbable pipes. Go up them and then jump to the ledge on the right when prompted.
Drop down from the ledge onto the roof and then do a running jump to the other roof to get a Toughness Z. Climb the pipes and go around the corner. Continue upwards to reach Sugiura. At the top, a group of RK members attack Sugiura and Yagami. Use Crane or Snake to thin their numbers and then switch to Tiger at the end of the fight.
After the cutscene, head through the door on the left to save and find a Staminan X. When ready, leave the room and head up the stairs to Yagami's left. Go to the door at the end of the roof. When prompted, choose "Yep, let's go."
Inside the building, Yagami and Sugiura confront the RK members and a fight ensues. Use Crane and Snake to take down the weaker enemies first, disarming anyone with a weapon along the way. Save Kasahara for last, as Yagami can't take his knife. Use either Snake or Tiger to make quick work of him.
Yagami soon discovers Kuwana isn't actually in the Geomijul base. Instead, the police were given false intel so as to expose their relationship to RK. Yagami then learns Tesso is guarding Kuwana at the Liumang hideout. It's marked on the map, so head there after restocking on healing items and restoring Yagami's health to full.
How to Beat Jin Kuwana at the Liumang Base
At the Liumang base, talk to the guards outside to be let in. Yagami and Sugiura find Kuwana sitting around with Tesso. Yagami gets more of the story about Kuwana's quest against bullies. When prompted, select "Public Security." Then, choose "They're working with Reiko Kusumoto." In response, Kuwana reveals he actually helped Kusumoto kill Shinya Kawai. He doesn't believe she betrayed him. Instead, they're trying to blackmail Kusumoto. Eventually, Yagami and Kuwana come to blows over the latter's refusal to submit to justice.
This fight is pretty much identical to previous fights with Kuwana, but he's faster and hits harder. Tiger is the best choice for taking him down, so switch to that style and keep Yagami's health high. In Tiger, continue using rush combos with charged blows. Use EX Boosts to guarantee some hits and try and keep Kuwana against the walls. It's easy enough to put him on the defensive and get him stuck if Yagami is aggressive enough. Where necessary, dodge behind Kuwana and keep up the attack.
After a while, Kuwana starts using deadly attacks. These are the same dashes as in previous fights, so reverse them where possible. Additionally, watch out for when Kuwana presses his fist to his palm. This means he's going to dodge the next attack Yagami throws out. Heal where necessary, and Kuwana will eventually go down.
How to Investigate Public Security
Their fight done with, Kuwana and Yagami strike up a partnership to stop Public Security, deciding to work out their differences later. After eating together, Kuwana comes up with a plan to essentially test whether Public Security has tapped Reiko's phone by calling her from a series of burner phones.
With the plan worked out, head to Yokohama 99 and talk to Tsukumo. With the burner phones in hand, head to the construction site near the batting center. There's going to be another battle, so make sure to prepare for that by restocking on healing items and restoring Yagami's health. While Kuwana talks to Reiko, a group of RK members come to investigate the burner phones. Yagami ends up having to fight them.
This isn't a particularly difficult fight, since Yagami takes away one of the RK member's guns during the cut scene. Use Crane to thin beat down the weaker members of the group and then switch to Tiger to take out the last goon. Chapter 10 then ends with a member of Public Security named Bando confronting Reiko about Shinya's death in her son's hospital room.
