Lost Finale's Plane Wreckage Images Weren't Part Of The Story, ABC Assures

Images of plane wreckage that closed the Lost finale apparently created a little confusion, leading some viewers to presume that no one survived the Oceanic 815 crash. I've also seen theories that it was debris from the Frank Lapidus-piloted Ajira Airways flight carrying Sawyer, Kate and the others. Or even that the Island is in a time loop, so events keep replaying.

But ABC wants to make clear that those shots mean none of those things. In fact, a network spokesperson tells the Los Angeles Times, they weren't part of the story at all: "The images shown during the end credits of the Lost finale, which included shots of Oceanic 815 on a deserted beach, were not part of the final story but were a visual aid to allow the viewer to decompress before heading into the news."

So there's one mystery solved! Now everyone can move on to, I don't know, what happened to Michael and Walt.
