Warning: Spoilers for the Lost series finale ahead.
For many, the Lost series finale was satisfying on multiple levels, even if the very ending wasn't universally embraced. But even the afterlife detractors must agree that the notion of Hugo "Hurley" Reyes and Benjamin Linus teaming up to become the number one and number two leaders of the Island — the modern era of Jacob and Richard Alpert, if you will — is pretty fantastic. In fact, one might argue that it's a concept worthy of a spinoff series.
There's no news on such a spinoff, but there is news on a further exploration of Hurley and Ben's days in charge of the Island. Michael Emerson appeared on "Attack of the Show!" this week and spoke about the various bonus features that will appear on the Lost complete series DVD set, including one that focuses on the further adventures of Team Burley.
"It's a lot. It's 12 or 14 minutes that opens a window onto that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series," Emerson revealed. Asked if the epilogue would lead to a spinoff series, the actor countered: "It's self-contained, although it's a rich period in the show's mythology that's never been explored."
