New information regarding The CW’s upcoming The Lost Boys series was released today. The series is an adaptation of the iconic 1987 Warner Bros. horror-comedy film of the same name.
In the movie, Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) and Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander), frequently referred to as the Frog brothers, run their parents’ comic book shop while also hunting vampires. For the series, the characters will be reimagined as two sisters named Liza and Cassie, played by Cheyenne Haynes (Camping) and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs).
They’ll be joining cast members Tyler Posey, Rio Mangini, Del Zamora, Sarah Hay, Medalion Rahimi, Kiele Sanchez, and Dakota Shapiro.
A synopsis for the series reads:
"The series is set in sunny seaside Santa Carla, home to a beautiful boardwalk, all the cotton candy you can eat… and a secret underworld of vampires. After the sudden death of their father, brothers Michael and Sam Emerson move to Santa Carla with their mother, who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But the brothers soon find themselves being drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla’s eternally beautiful and youthful undead."
The Lost Boys is Written by Heather Mitchell and directed by Catherine Hardwicke. Development on the adaptation was greenlit in 2016 by The CW, but the pilot was pushed back the following year by the network for undisclosed reasons.
