Los Angeles honors original Superman TV series

Fans of the classic "The Adventures of Superman" television series gathered in Los Angeles on Tuesday in front of City Hall, which the series had used as the Daily Planet, to honor the 50th anniversary of the show's first episode being filmed there.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors declared Tuesday through Monday, July 16, to be The Adventures of Superman week in Los Angeles county, and presented a proclamation to original cast members, including Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) and Noel Neill (Lois Lane).

The show, starring George Reeves as Superman, ran six years before being canceled in 1957.
